Douglas Hertz

(1952 - ) 

Since 1984, Doug Hertz has served as president and CEO of United Distributors, the largest alcoholic beverage wholesaler and currently one of the top 25 private companies in metro Atlanta. In addition to running the family business, Hertz is founder and chairman of Camp Twin Lakes, which serves more than 9,000 sick and disabled children annually.

He is a former board chairman of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Woodruff Arts Center board. A graduate of Westminister High School and Tulane University, Hertz is member of many other boards in Atlanta including Atlantic Capital Bank, Georgia Research Alliance, Mother Nature Network, and the Westminister Schools. He also is an emeritus member of the Board of Tulane University and a limited partner in the Atlanta Falcons.

He has been honored with many awards, including the Jefferson Award in Washington D.C. for distinguished service to children and was inducted into the Junior Achievement Atlanta Business Hall of Fame. Hertz is married to Lila Hertz and has two adult children. Hertz served as president of The Temple from 1998 to 2000.
