A native of New York, Arthur Blank co-founded The Home Depot in 1978 with Bernie Marcus and spent 19 years as the company’s president before becoming CEO. Blank retired from the company in 2001 as the co-chairman. Today, Blank is the Chairman, President and CEO of AMB Group LLC, the parent company of the Falcons and Atlanta United franchises. He is chairman of The Arthur Blank Family Foundation and serves on the Board of Trustees of Emory University and the board of Staples.

The Arthur Blank Family Foundation has granted nearly $300 million to support early childhood development, education, the arts, and parks and greenspace. In 2001, Blank joined the faculty of Emory University’s Goizueta Business School as its first Distinguished Executive in Residence and now serves as a Goizueta Executive Fellow. He has received many awards and recognition from the community, including the Freeing Voices, Changing Lives Award from the American Institute for Stuttering and the Four Pillar Award by the Council for Quality Growth.

Blank received honorary degrees from the University of South Carolina Beaufort and the Furman University. Blank was inducted into the Junior Achievement U.S. Business Hall of Fame in 2006. He married Angie Blank in 2016 and brought together their respective families, including nine children and five grandchildren.
